Northern Circuit Destinations
Overview
The northern circuit is a popular choice among tourists for two main reasons: its close proximity between destinations and the inclusion of Tanzania’s most renowned sights, such as Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, and Mount Kilimanjaro.With all the parks, towns, and attractions conveniently located near each other, it is possible to explore the entire circuit by vehicle with only a short travel time between destinations. Tarangire National Park, situated southwest and approximately 118 kilometers from Arusha town, covers an expansive area of about 2,850 square kilometers. This park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts as it offers diverse and breathtaking encounters with antelopes, elephants, gazelles, buffalos, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, and even Pythons, among other fascinating species.
Serengeti National Park
By history, Serengeti National Park is the first park in Tanzania in the year of 1951. It covers an area of 14,763 square kilometers. A park that holds international recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage site with its mass migration of its wild inhabitants. Undoubtedly, customers will be stunned with flora and fauna, predator and prey being inclusive– discovering the behavior of buffalos, elephants, giraffes, gazelles, impala, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, leopards, Ostrich, eagles and other more than 500 bird species’ circuit by vehicle with only a couple of hours in between destinations.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Crater.
Ngorongoro crater is well known as a natural beautiful landscape and a significant icon of tourism in the Northern zone with archaeological and paleontological localities. It is located 180 km from west of Arusha direction. Ngorongoro crater area covers about 8,288 square kilometers, reputable as a world heritage mixed site.
Its permanent water and green pastures supports high density of wildlife and for the most part of grazing animals. Ngorongoro– The only place worldwide that people experience the nature and human culture from deep past to present. The crater is among of the natural wonders of the world; this is because of its amazing landscape grouped with significant wildlife specifically reserved black rhino.
Tarangire National Park
Is located at southwest, approximately 118 kilometers from Arusha town. The park is about 2,850 square kilometers and embraces wild natures including antelopes, elephants, gazelles mingle buffalos, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes and Pythons among others.
Lake Manyara National Park.
Lake Manyara is located 126 kilometers from west of Arusha town in northern Tanzania. The lake covers an area of about 330 square kilometers. The lake possess high density of both settled and migratory animal species particularly zebras, flamingos, duikers, waterbucks, dik- diks and giraffes, and left in awe by the tree climbing lions.
